Earlier this week, the Parents Television Council spoke out against Rihanna and the violence depicted in her latest music video, “Man Down”.
According to the organization, Rihanna used her video to glorify and advocate “cold, calculated execution of murder,” even if it was against a rapist and abuser. They also claimed that if her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown were to make a video with a similar message “the world would stop”.
Today, Rihanna caught wind of the allegations, and took to her Twitter account to respond to the PTC.
“I’m a 23 year old rockstar with NO KIDS! What’s up with everybody wantin me to be a parent?
I’m just a girl, I can only be your/our voice! Cuz we all know how difficult/embarrassing it is to communicate touchy subject matters to anyone especially our parents! And this is why! Cuz we turn the other cheek! U can’t hide your kids from society,or they’ll never learn how to adapt! This is the REAL WORLD! The music industry isn’t exactly Parents R Us! We have the freedom to make art, LET US! Its your job to make sure they dont turn out like US”
Can’t say any of us gossip searching lovers will be surprised at the news that Bobby Brown supposedly got so drunk at the airport yesterday before even getting on the plane. No crime in having a little drink for your flight. Unless of course a fellow passenger decides to tell the papers that he REEKED of alcohol and almost missed the three-hour flight from the Caribbean island resort coz he was that out of it and they did not want to let him on board. According to the mail online the 42-year-old R&B singer was travelling with his current ‘long suffering’ wife, Alicia Etheridge and their two-year-old son Cassius from Aruba to Miami. What is up with that?
In the mood for some new Mary J? This one is slow and smooth. Classic Mary and will be on her ‘My Life II LP…Enjoy!
Ok, so whether the rumours of her outrageous behaviour and cranky mentality is true or not, it seems Cadburys are willing to take their chances and pee the Naomi Campbell right off.
Apparently both Naomi and her mother real mad over a recent advert by Cadbury chocolate showing a bar of chocolate surrounded by jewels and a caption saying: “Move over Naomi, there’s a new diva in town.” The ad is apparently a reference to her skin colour though I honestly thought it was more about her being a diva.
I would have thought that a cheeky ad like this would have sought the permission of namo but seeing as they did not use her full name or her picture I guess she can’t really claim they are referring to her. This is the story that Cadbury’s are using and they are sticking to it.
