Congratulations are certainly in order for Nicki Minaj.
The Trinidadian-American’s raciest video, Anaconda, is now vevo certified. The controversial video has been streamed 100 million times in just 11 days.
This is Nicki Minaj’s seventh certified video as a lead act on Vevo — ‘Starships’, ‘Moment 4 Life’, ‘Pound The Alarm’, ‘Super Bass’, ‘Beez in the Trap’ and ‘Right By My Side’ are all certified for hitting the 100 million landmark.
‘Anaconda’ had earlier broken Miley Cyrus’ ‘Wrecking Ball’ record for most views in 24 hours. The clip was viewed 19.6 million times in 24 hours, beating the previous record of 12.3 million views.
Anaconda becomes Nicki Minaj’s highest charting single ever after leaping from No.39 to 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song surpasses Super Bass, which peaked #3 in 2011.
The ‘Baby Got Back’ sampled track did so well mainly because of streaming points. The racy visual of Anaconda was streamed 32.1 million times in a week, that is the highest since Miley Cyrus’ ‘Wrecking Ball’ drew 36.4 million streams in 2013.
Also, Anaconda sold 120,000 digital copies last week. Its rise in sales was influenced by Nicki Minaj’s VMA performance and the video for Anaconda. The track was up a staggering 132 percent from last week.
Radio also helped Minaj’s new track to becoming her highest charting single ever. The track garnered 25 million impressions last week (up 33 percent).
With Anaconda hitting the top 10, it extends Nicki Minaj’s record for the most top 10s for female rappers. She now has 11 Hot 100 Top 10s.
While everyone on the internet was going crazy about Beyonce’s epic performance at the 2014 VMAs, Lil Kim and her stans (Team Lil Kim) were fighting over an already lost crown -’The Queen of Rap’.
After Nicki Minaj and her girls (Ariana Grande and Jessie J) performed Bang Bang at the VMAs, singer K. Michelle took to Twitter to praise them for their effort. She also use the opportunity to crown Lil Kim’s longtime nemesis, Nicki Minaj as the Queen of Rap. Her endorsement however did not go on well with Lil Kim stans, who accused K Michelle of betraying and throwing shades at her friend.
K. Michelle of course hopped on Twitter again to defend herself against the unfair criticism she is suffering at the hands of Team Lil Kim. “U lil Kim fans can kiss my ass. Me & Kim and VERY cool. Im actually going 2C the baby. If she aint mad, u motherless kids should find a seat,” she tweeted.
She added: “I’m allowed to like more than one artist, just like u miserable folks are allowed to drink a cup of bleach. Love them both.”
As ever, the
Queen of Beefs dethroned Queen of Rap, Lil Kim, couldn’t just sit down for K. Michelle to drag her loyal stans to filth. Like always, Ms jones responded and attacked Michelle for insulting her fans.

Since breaking onto the hip hop scene, Nicki Minaj has been known for a lot of crazy stuff, mainly regarding wearing flimsy clothing in music videos and flaunting her butt like, all the time.
Slated to perform at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards, the ‘Anaconda’ artist has been rehearsing for the show and her performance is to include a snake to augment the ‘anaconda’ title of the track.
On Friday, the snake being planned to be used for the performance, a 6 foot long Dumeril Boa Constrictor named Rocky, bit one of the performers during rehearsals, initiating a halt to the session as the performer received medical assistance.
The incident occurred as she had the snake draped around her shoulders, and the bite was on the inside of her left arm. Boa Constrictors are non-venomous, but the show was stopped anyway as the woman was given treatment, then sent to a nearby hospital simply as a precautionary measure. Read more

Ever since she made her debut, the ‘Anaconda’ artist keeps on breaking records. This week, Nicki Minaj toppled Michael Jackson on the list of most Billboard Hot 100 hits.
Nicki and MJ were both tied at 50 entries but with Anaconda opening at No.19 on the Billboard Hot 100, the femcee now has an incredible 51 Hot 100 hits in only six years.
While beating MJ in most Hot 100 entries is a great feat, we must note that most of Michael’s hits from his illustrious career were as a lead act. Nicki can only boast of 20 leads from the 51 songs that entered the Hot 100. Most of her songs on Hot 100 is as a result of being featured.
After breaking this record, Nicki Minaj took to Instagram to celebrate her recent achievement. “Made history today. I didn’t even know I was tied with Michael Jackson with 50 Hot 100 entries on Billboard. Anaconda makes 51 and now I’m tied with Rod Stewart. God bless, and thank you,” she announced on Instagram.
